For months many had spoke of the need for Damien Sandow to be used or let go, but when the moment came it was received with sadness and shock.Sandow was consistently popular over the last few years despite being given the mouldiest set of lemons available during that time. He was given an impersonation gimmick combined with a losing-streak, and somehow managed to grow in popularity through it. Despite all of these gains in popularity, it was clear for all to see that WWE had little interest in doing anything with Damien Sandow, and giving him his release was the best for all involved.
